Mechanism
A flavonoid extracted from Hovenia dulcis (Japanese raisin tree), studied almost entirely in rodent models for modulating GABA-A receptors and blunting some effects of alcohol intoxication and withdrawal. It is heavily marketed for hangover prevention in humans, but that use is not what the (mostly animal) research actually demonstrates.
