Supplement Database

Evidence-rated profiles for common supplements — mechanism, protocols, side effects, and how much (or how little) research actually backs each one. Profiles are being added over time.

What the star rating means

The score reflects how much research exists and how far along it is — not how safe, effective, or worth taking a supplement is. It is not my personal opinion of how good a supplement is, and not a recommendation. Supplements are labeled “Dietary Supplement” rather than “FDA Approved” because that’s how they’re actually regulated in the US — as food, not as drugs the FDA reviews for safety or effectiveness before sale. A low score means “understudied,” not “bad.” See each profile for the full breakdown.
